Mind Your Manners

mind ur manners from Team 5 PES on Vimeo.

Here is a short MTV that Tyla-Marie, Hosannah and I made. We made up your own lyrics and we filmed people dancing around and being silly. It was a lot of fun to make!

The Black Hole

Imagine you found a black hole, would you use it for your own greed or need? One afternoon, while working a late shift, Jane as usual was printing papers. In the printing room the printer suddenly went haywire. Unexpectedly a piece of paper popped out with a black hole in the middle. Gently laying it down on the table, she hovered her hand over the center. Grabbing the paper she ran to the vending machine. Placing the black hole over the machine, her arm went straight through. Greedily an idea came to her so she darted to the safe. "I am going to be rich!" Jane kept repeating in her mind. She taped the paper to the safe and started to steal piles and piles of money. Wanting more she went through the black hole. Because of her weight, the tape ripped off, trapping Jane in the safe.

To Pull or not to Pull

To Pull Of Not To Pull? from Team 5 PES on Vimeo.

Kaycee and I interviewed each other to see if they would pull a red rope dangling from the sky. Would you pull the rope?

Visual Mihi

Malo e lelei, Kia orana, Bula, Talofa lava and greetings! My name is Gloria. Pt England School is where I attend and I am currently in year 7. In my class (Room 15), I have the fun and loving Miss King. In my spare time, I love to read, write, play all sorts of games, listen to music and hang out with my friends. But those are just the few things I like to do. What do you like to do?

Above, you may see 4 pictures I have drawn beside a photo of myself. These 4 pictures each represent something about me. This was created for a worldwide corporation named Rock Our World. Many schools participate in this and this is to introduce myself everyone.

Touch

Untitled

Touch is a great sport to play. Lucky for me, my class trained with a professional named Kevin.

As a warm-up, we played a little game called Octopus. You may be familiar with this game. But there was a twist, if you were tagged you had to link up with that person and you’re in. 2 people started out as the ones to tag us. Running to one side, I watched the other kids dodge and dash. A lot did get tagged and there was a long line of linked up children.

Making a run for it, a bunch of girls ran after me, suddenly Turuhira nudged my shoulder and pulled back. My arm linked up with her, I started to run after Kaycee. Reaching my hand out, I struggled to grab her. Kevin then blew his whistle, I immediately froze and looked at him. Octopus was ending. On the bright side we were all warmed up and ready to do some drills.

Dividing us into 4 groups, Kevin put halve my team on one side and halve on the other. Under the relentless sun, we passed the ball to each other until we had to throw the ball to the next person. Swiftly scooping up the ball, I passed to my left then I quickly ran towards my group. Tumbling over the line, our coach picked it up a notch by making us run in pairs.

We had to stop in the middle and roll the ball through our legs for our partner to pick it up and throw to the next pair. Following behind my partner, he rolled the ball through his legs and I picked it up. Scurrying like a rat, I passed the ball. After a learning new skills, it was time to play some touch. Because of the number of players, we played Jungle Touch.

With the other team with the ball, one of the players from my team touched them. 5 meters, we moved back. At the end of the game, I think the other team was winning but overall it was really fun!! I can’t wait to play again next week!

Changing Directions

Miss King showed us 2 sayings. Confucius was a man who once said "If you don't change direction, you may end up where you are heading". Meaning if you always follow one path your whole life, you miss out all the other opportunities.

The second was HAPPINESS vs JOY. We were asked by Miss King what's the difference between joy and happiness.

Our teacher gave us ether the 1st saying or the 2nd and we had to interpretate this in a photo. In a group, Kaycee, Tyla-Marie and I used an iPod to take the pics. Here is a presentation with the photos we took. Each photo represents  "If you don't change direction, you may end up where you are heading".

Lollipop Moments

By watching a motivating video entitled ‘Lollipop Moments’ it had me thinking of what the main message was. From my perspective, it means being a leader isn’t all about the power. When we make leadership bigger than us, we don’t expect it. Kinda like doing something that makes a difference, something that affects people. Anyone can be a leader, you don’t have to be the one of top of everybody.

Lollipop Moments, a moment when you affect someone by doing or saying something no matter how big or small. To help create a lollipop moment in your family, school and anywhere else, you should try doing some acts of kindness whether it’s picking up rubbish or just being nice to someone.
